Atabek Azamatov delivered an outstanding performance at the Youth World Weightlifting Championships currently taking place in Cali, Colombia. Competing in the men's up to 60 kg weight category, the Turkmen weightlifter distinguished himself through remarkable determination and exceptional physical preparation, completing the competition with great success.
Azamatov set a strong tone during the first discipline of the competition, the snatch. Lifting an impressive 116 kg, his attempt surpassed all competitors in the category, securing him the small gold medal for the event.
In the second discipline, the clean and jerk, Azamatov successfully lifted 133 kg. Combining his results across both disciplines, he achieved a total lift of 249kg. This performance earned him the overall silver medal.
