Turkmen athlete Dawut Nazmyradow won a bronze medal at the 20th WKF Asian Karate Championship held in Hangzhou, People's Republic of China. Competing in the men's Kumite category in the 75-kilogram weight division, Nazmyradow achieved impressive results, battling against 19 other athletes to claim the bronze medal.
A total of 6 athletes, 3 referees, and 2 coaches represented Turkmenistan in the championship. Nazmyradow, by securing three victories on his way to the bronze medal, became the only athlete from Turkmenistan to win a medal in this prestigious competition.
The championship was organized by the World Karate Federation (WKF), which is officially recognized by the International Olympic Committee.
