Turkmenistan Chess Teams Achieve Success in Budapest

At the 45th World Chess Olympiad held in Budapest, the national men's and women's teams of Turkmenistan achieved success in their respective categories. The men's team demonstrated a strong performance in the "B" category, scoring 15 points, while the women's team secured 14 points in the "C" category.
Overall, the Turkmenistan men's team ranked 24th out of 188 participating teams, and the women's team placed 32nd out of 169 teams. These accomplishments mark the highest achievements for Turkmen chess players in the history of the World Chess Olympiads.
Representing Turkmenistan, the men's team included international master Saparmyrat Atabayev (board 1), experienced international grandmaster Meilis Annaberdyev (board 2), Olympian Amanmuhammet Hommadov (board 3), Allayar Shirliyev (board 4), and Wepaly HylnyĆ½azov (reserve board 5). The women's team featured 18-year-old Lale Shohradowa (board 1), previous Olympian Meryem Agajanova (board 2), Leyla Shohradowa (board 3), Jahan Rejepova (board 4), and Enesh Arazmedova (reserve board 5).
These victories are clear evidence of the progress of Turkmen chess. The Turkmenistan teams not only succeeded in their categories but also achieved significant results on the international chess stage.
