Begench Baltayev won a bronze medal at the 2023 World Sambo Championship in Yerevan. Baltayev competed in the weight category up to 79 kg in sports sambo, in which 24 athletes took part. The World Sambo Championship ended on November 12. Athletes from 65 countries took part in the competition. According to the tournament results, first place in the team competition was taken by the Russian team, second place by the Uzbekistan team, and third place by the Kazakhstan team.
