Turkmen Youth Athletes Achieve Success at the 3rd Asian Youth Games

From 22 to 31 October 2025, the 3rd Asian Youth Games were held in Manama, the capital of the Kingdom of Bahrain, where young athletes from Turkmenistan delivered outstanding performances, earning a total of six medals.

This large-scale international sporting event brought together thousands of young athletes from dozens of Asian countries. Members of Turkmenistan’s national team demonstrated a high level of skill and sportsmanship, proudly raising the prestige of our country on the continental stage.

Achievements in Weightlifting

Didarbek Jumabayev, competing in the 79 kg weight category, achieved a result of 177 kg in the clean and jerk, which not only earned him a gold medal but also set a new Asian record. He additionally lifted 138 kg in the snatch, winning a bronze medal.

Yslam Akmyradov, competing in the 94 kg weight category, lifted 185 kg in the clean and jerk to secure a silver medal, and achieved 146 kg in the snatch, earning a bronze medal.

Saparbay Atajanov, in the +94 kg weight category, lifted 175 kg, winning a bronze medal.

Success in Kurash

Leyli Yusupova, competing in the -52 kg weight category in Kurash, demonstrated strong performance and earned a bronze medal. Her success reflects the growing participation and achievements of Turkmen women on the international sports stage.

Overall Results

In total, the Turkmen national team won 1 gold, 1 silver, and 4 bronze medals at the 3rd Asian Youth Games.
