Turkmen Athlete Bunyad Rashidov Wins a Silver Medal at the World Weightlifting Championships

Turkmen weightlifter Bunyad Rashidov won the silver medal in the snatch at the ongoing World Weightlifting Championships in Manama, Bahrain. He achieved this success in the men's 73 kg category, where 26 athletes were competing.
Rashidov showed an impressive result in the snatch, lifting 154 kg, which earned him second place in this discipline. However, in the clean and jerk, he could not improve his position, lifting 163 kg and finishing 16th in the event. His total result was 321 kg, which placed him in 15th place overall.
The world champion in the 73 kg category became Hyon Ri Yon from North Korea, who posted a total of 349 kg (152 kg in the snatch and 197 kg in the clean and jerk). Second place went to Indonesian athlete Rizki Juniansyah, with a total of 340 kg (150 kg and 190 kg). The third spot was taken by Chinese athlete Zhong Zhiguan, with 336 kg (152 kg in the snatch and 197 kg in the clean and jerk).
The Turkmenistan weightlifting team is represented by eight athletes at the World Championships. The tournament will conclude on December 15, and coaches and fans are hopeful for further successes from the team.
