Our compatriot Yulduz Jumabaeva, who competed in the girls' competition at the 49 kg, won three bronze medals of the Games. The talented athlete competed against female weightlifters from the Republic of Turkey and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The girl from Turkmenistan, who managed to snatch 74 kg and clean & jerk in 93 kg. Her overall result of 167 kg was also awarded with a bronze medal.

Thus, Yulduz Jumabaeva brought the Turkmen delegation the first medals of the 5th Islamic Commonwealth Games.
