World Cycling Day celebrated in Turkmenistan

World Bicycle Day, established by the Resolution of the United Nations General Assembly on the initiative of the Esteemed President, has been widely celebrated in our country. This international holiday, emphasizing the importance of such universal values as health and solidarity, friendliness and adherence to humanistic ideals, opens up great opportunities for popularizing sport as a messenger of peace, establishing fruitful cooperation based on the principles of trust and mutual understanding.

A mass bike ride was timed to coincide with World Bicycle Day in Turkmenistan, in which President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov took part. Having given the start to the cycling marathon, the leader of the nation led the column of its participants.

Let us also recall that in 2018 the most massive cycling lesson was held at the Ashgabat Multipurpose Stadium. It was attended by 3 thousand 246 people. A year later, the longest single-line bicycle parade took place in the Olympic Village, bringing together 2019 cyclists. Both of these events are included in the famous Guinness Book of Records. These events have been included in the Guinness Book of World Records. 

Thus, the celebration of World Bicycle Day once again became a clear manifestation of the unity of our society, the commitment of the people of Turkmenistan to the humanitarian values based on the state policy of our national leader. Under the wise leadership of the Esteemed President, our Independent, permanently Neutral Homeland is confidently advancing towards new creative goals and high heights.

Bicycle races on the occasion of the World Bicycle Day were also held in all velayats of the country.
