The Olympic Channel, the digital platform of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), has been recognized by The Webby Awards for excellence in video across three digital content pieces launched in 2020: What Moves Me, Mariah: A Boxer’s Dream and Inspired by Sport.
Commonly referred to as “the internet’s highest honor,” The Webby Awards are the leading international recognition of excellence across digital channels. The list of laureates is formed by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, as well as by the audience participating in the voting.
With regard to the IOC projects noted, the series "What Moves Me" became the winner in the category "Entertainment Videos Filmed by Own Script", "Mariah: A Boxer's Dream" was named the best sports video, and "Inspired by Sports" took first place in the category "Sports Series and channels”.
In addition, The Olympian & Paralympian Experiences Festival was among the nominees for the Virtual Sports rubric. This project is designed to enable athletes to earn money in a transitional stage of their careers, as well as share their stories with fans around the world.
