27 May, 2021

From 26 to 27 May, the 10th International Forum of Athletes is being held in digital format, for which about 2000 athletes and their representatives have registered. The event is organized by the International Olympic Committee and the IOC Athletes' Commission. This is reported by the ROC Information Service.

IOC President Thomas Bach is planning to take part in the event. On the first day, he will give a welcoming speech, and on the second, he will answer questions from athletes and their representatives during an interactive session.

It is reported that one of the main topics for discussion will be the preparation for the Olympic Games in Tokyo. So, over the past few weeks, numerous test events have been successfully carried out in Japan. In addition, more than 70 percent of the Olympic licenses have already been played.

As part of the discussion, athletes who have completed the qualification process will share their experience, tell how they overcame the difficulties caused by the coronavirus pandemic. Forum participants will also have the opportunity to find out more information about the anti-epidemiological measures that will be in force in Tokyo during the days of the competition.

The guests of the event will also discuss the implementation of the 2020 + 5 Olympic Agenda, updated in March this year and will focus on preparations for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 and Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022. As envisioned by the IOC, this program is designed to benefit athletes around the world by expanding the Athletes' Commission's toolbox. The agenda also includes the issue of ensuring the physical and psychological well-being of the Olympians.
