Silver went to the 2018 world champion among juniors, two-time Asian champion Ali Davudi from Iran - 441 kg (200 + 241). And gold - to the two-time Olympic champion Lasha Talakhadze from Georgia, who won with three world and Olympic records in the snatch, clean and jerk and combined event - 488 kg (223 + 265).

So, the national team of Turkmenistan, which was represented by 9 athletes at the Olympic arenas in Tokyo in judo, weightlifting, swimming and athletics, finished its performance at the largest complex competitions of the four years with one silver medal. She was won in a weightlifting tournament in the weight category up to 59 kg by a 21-year-old student of the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports, a pupil of the School of Higher Sports Skills of Turkmenistan, Polina Guryeva. The head coach of the national weightlifting team Artur Emiryan led the talented athlete to this success.
