A meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Olympic Committee of Turkmenistan was held in Ashgabat.

During the meeting, reports on the work done for 2020 were announced, prospects and tasks for the coming 2021 were discussed.

Also on the agenda of the meeting was considered the matter of the composition of the board of NOC and to the position of Secretary General of the NOC of Turkmenistan was appointed Mr. Ata Akmammedov, who replaced Mr. Azat Muradov in this post.

Also, during the meeting of the Executive Committee, approved the action plan for the upcoming 2021.

The main objectives of this action plan is active preparation with the subsequent successful participation of athletes of national teams in all major international sports events that were previously announced by the International Olympic Committee, the Olympic Council of Asia and other international sports organizations.

The Ministry of Sports and Youth Policy of Turkmenistan, the National Olympic Committee of Turkmenistan and the National sports federations of Turkmenistan are actively working to promote the sports of higher achievements in the country. With the support of the state, athletes and coaches of national teams are provided with material and technical support and medical services, as well as in order to improve their training process and performance level, according to the action plan, training camps and theoretical classes are organized.

One of the main tasks of the Olympic Movement in Turkmenistan is the successful participation of the national team in the upcoming Summer Olympic Games Tokyo-2020 which will be held in Tokyo, Japan, from July 23 to August 8, 2021.
